How do I request a background check?
A background check is initiated during the onboarding process. If fingerprinting is required for your position, you will receive an email with instructions.
Do I have to pay?
No. The company covers the cost of the required background check and fingerprinting.
If you incur any charges for fingerprinting, please make sure to send an email to credentialing@intelycare.com. In your email, include a copy of the receipt as proof of payment. Once you have completed your first shift, we will reimburse you for the fingerprinting fee, and the reimbursement will be reflected in your first paycheck.
How long does the process take?
Results may be available within a few hours or may take several business days. Fingerprint processing, court research, incomplete records, name discrepancies, or employment/education verification delays may extend the process to several weeks. Applicants can help avoid delays by providing complete and accurate information.
Where should I go to get my fingerprints taken?
You may visit any FastFingerprints location to complete your fingerprinting. A list of locations is available here:
Can I use another fingerprinting vendor?
No. We only accept fingerprint results submitted through FastFingerprints. Fingerprints completed through other vendors cannot be accepted.
What do I need to bring to my fingerprint appointment?
Bring a valid, government-issued photo ID (such as a driver's license, state ID, or passport). Review your appointment instructions for any additional required documents.
When should I schedule my fingerprint appointment?
Schedule your appointment as soon as you receive the fingerprinting instructions. Delays in scheduling may delay your onboarding and start date.
What happens after I complete my fingerprints?
Your fingerprint results are submitted directly to the background screening agency for processing. You generally do not need to submit anything unless you are contacted for additional information from IntelyCare.
Will I receive my background check results?
Typically, you will receive an email once your background check is completed, and IntelyCare will receive a copy and upload it to the portal. If you get an email that your background check is complete, please allow 1-3 business days for it to be uploaded to your profile. If there are no updates from IntelyCare after that, contact the credentialing team at credentialing@intelycare.com.

I signed the background check release form during onboarding process, why do I have to do this again?
What you signed during the onboarding process is a contest form that you give us permission to run your background check or fingerprints. It's not a background check yet.
Why was I able to accept shifts and be active, but then 30 days later my shifts were removed and locked?
Some states permit conditional hiring because the results of background checks can sometimes take an extended period to be processed and returned. You have been hired with a preliminary/conditional hiring background check so that you could pick up shifts right away. Your preliminary background check will be valid for 30 days, during which you will need to complete the state-required fingerprinting process. However, if the background check results are not received within this 30-day timeframe, your account will be placed on hold. This means you will not be able to accept any further shifts or until the background check results are submitted and reviewed. This policy ensures compliance with state regulations while allowing you to start working promptly under conditional terms. Please be advised, due to certain county and facility requirements, working with your conditional background check may not be accepted at select facilities.
Is Fingerprints and background check the same?
No, fingerprinting and a background check are not the same thing. Fingerprinting is just the collection of your biometric data, while a background check is a broad review of your personal history. However, fingerprinting is often used as one step to run a specific type of criminal background check.
Will I need background check and Fingerprints together or one of each only?
It depends in a state where you are currently planning to accept shift, and this will be determined during the onboarding process. Please review this article for more information.
I haven’t received an email with instructions from the credentialing team for my background check, what should I do?
You may send a follow up email to credentialing@intelycare.com. They can resend the email with instructions on how you can proceed with your background check.
