Before accepting a shift, we suggest reviewing all the important details, such as the exact location of the facility, the shift date and time, the rate, and any other relevant facility information.
Facility Details
It is the facility information found within the shift details.
- The phone number will now be visible under facility details. If you will be running late, you should contact the facility directly to report it.
- The electronic medical record (EMR) systems that the facility is using are visible under shift details. The electronic medical record (EMR) is simply the digital version of a patient’s paper chart. Examples: Point Click Care (PCC systems), Epic, Cerner, Oracle, and eClinicalWorks, etc.
This will give you an idea of what EMR software the facility is using. If it is your first time working at that facility, we highly recommend coming in early before your shift starts so you have enough time to set up your credentials for charting. Your charting credentials should be provided by the facility. Ask for your login credentials as soon as you check in. If you have login issues, you may request for paper charting. - Before leaving, have a Supervisor review your charting and confirm all required fields are green.
- If you have concerns about the charting system the facility is using, please reach out to the facility Supervisor or Charge Nurse for help with documentation when needed.
- You will also find special instructions, such as where to park or what to do upon entering the building.
- Strike and lockout information, if a facility is on strike or lockout.
- Floor details include specific information about the floor or unit, such as the number of beds.
