What is CPR? 

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency lifesaving procedure performed when the heart stops beating. Immediate CPR can double or triple the chances of survival after cardiac arrest.

Q: Why does IntelyCare need a new CPR certification from me? 

A: IntelyCare requires that you have an up-to-date CRP or BLS certification on file with us to ensure the safety and well-being of patients and clients. Compliance with CRP or BLS certification helps meet healthcare standards and allows IntelyCare to provide the best possible care in alignment with regulatory requirements. 

Q: How do I renew my CPR certification? 

A: You can renew your CPR or BLS certification through either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC). If your employer provides training through either organization, that is acceptable for renewal. However, if you need assistance finding a course, you can visit the following links to register for an approved course:

Note: While these links can help you find a course, it's not necessary to use them; you can renew your certification directly through any issuing AHA or ARC organizations. 

Q: How do I upload my CPR certification? 

A: You can upload your CPR or BLS certification using one of two methods: 

• Logging into the IntelyCare app and following the steps included at the end of this FAQ.  

Q: What happens if I do not renew before expiration? 

A: If you do not renew, you may be locked out of certain shifts. To keep available shifts unlocked and continue working with us, you'll need to complete with the IntelyCare app.  

Q: How long will it take for my new certification to reflect in my IntelyCare app? 

A: Your updated CPR or BLS certification will be reflected as "Approved" in your IntelyCare app within 48 hours of submission, as long as the certification is valid. 

Q: Which CPR certifications are accepted at IntelyCare? 

A: IntelyCare accepts CPR or BLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) and the American Red Cross (ARC), provided the skills portion is completed in person. The certifications must be within the last two years. Online-only courses are not accepted. 

• CPR is required for all nurses. 
• CPR is mandatory for CNAs in Florida, Delaware, and Virginia. 
• An ACLS card from AHA must be submitted along with a BLS card. 

Q: Who is required to have CPR certification? 

A: All Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) working in Virginia (VA), Delaware (DE), and Florida (FL) must have a valid CRP or BLS certification. 

Q: Does IntelyCare accept Online Training CPR? 

A: No, to ensure the quality and integrity of the training, IntelyCare does not accept online training cards. 

Q: Do I need to provide the front and back of the card? 

A: Yes, please provide both the front and back of your CPR or BLS certification card to ensure that all required details are captured. 

Q: What type of files can I upload? 

A: You can upload files in formats such as .jpg, .png, and .pdf. Do NOT submit .HEIC or large files. 

Q: Why was my updated CPR certification rejected? 

A: If your submission was rejected, please contact IntelyCare for support and assistance in resolving the issue. 

Q: How do I update my CPR certification in the IntelyCare app? 

1. Log into the app. 
2. Select the menu option on the top left-hand corner of your screen. 
3. Select the My Documents option.  
4. Select the CPR or BLS option.  
5. Under “Current Uploads,” select the previously uploaded document. 
6. Select the Update Document option.  
7. Enter the CPR or BLS Type.  
8. Enter the issue date.  
9. Upload a photo. 
10. Select “Submit for Review". 

Uploaded documents will be reviewed and approved within 24 - 48 hours. 

Q: How can I make sure I am taking the correct steps to stay compliant with IntelyCare? 

A: To stay compliant, you should: 

• Respond to IntelyCare quality assurance emails. 
• Review the IntelyCare App notification. 
• Schedule renewal courses 10-15 days prior to expiration.
• Complete renewal course 5-7 days prior to expiration. 
• Upload your valid CPR or BLS certification through the IntelyCare app 24-48 hours before expiration.
