Work License FAQ

Q: What is a work license? 

A: A work license confirms eligibility to work as a CNA, LPN, or RN in each state. Healthcare providers must keep their work license(s) valid and up to date to work with IntelyCare within their practicing state(s). 

Q: What makes a work license valid? A: A valid work license must include: 

• Expiration date 
• Provider's name 
• License type (CNA, LPN, RN) 
• License number 

Q: How do I upload or update my work license? A: To upload a new or updated work license: 

1. Log in to the IntelyCare app 
2. Go to the "My Documents" section under the Menu 
3. Select "Add Nursing License" 
4. Enter license details (type, expiration date, state, document number) 
5. Submit for review. Your license will be reviewed and updated. 

Q: What if my work license test expires?  

A: If your work license test expires and you do not renew it, you will be locked out of shifts within that state. To keep available shifts unlocked and continue working with us, you'll need to fulfill the work license requirement.   

Q: Can I upload multiple state licenses? 

A: Yes, you can upload a valid license for each state you want to work in. 

Q: Does IntelyCare accept compact licenses? 

A: Yes, IntelyCare accepts compact licenses for nurses (LPN and RN). The license must be uploaded as a state license and may be subject to state-specific requirements prior to unlocking shifts. 

Q: Can IntelyCare help me renew my license? 

A: IntelyCare assists with license renewals for IntelyPros in MA, IL, CT, NC, and OH, provided you’ve worked at least one full 8-hour shift. For other states, please contact your state board directly. 

Q: What is the timeframe for IntelyCare to process license renewals? 

• Massachusetts: 3-5 days 
• Connecticut: 5-7 days 
• Ohio: 5-7 days 
• Illinois: 3-5 days 
• North Carolina: 7-10 days 

Q: What states can I upload licenses for? 

A: We accept licenses from the following states: CT, FL, IL, MO, KS, OH, KY, MA, MD, NH, NJ, PA, DE, RI, NC, and VA. 

Q: When will my license be updated in my profile? 

A: License updates are typically processed within 1-2 business days after submission. 

Q: How can I make sure I am taking the correct steps to stay compliant with IntelyCare?  

A: To stay compliant, you should:  

• Read and respond to IntelyCare Quality Assurance emails.  
• Review IntelyCare app notifications.  
• Renew your work license a minimum of 2 weeks prior to expiration to prevent locked shifts. 
• Upload updated work license a minimum of 24-48 hours prior to expiration.
